Facilities Maintenance Technician
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and motivated Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in maintaining a safe, clean, attractive, and well-functioning 72-acre park.
This is a permanent, full-time outdoor position that requires a strong work ethic, flexibility, and the ability to perform a variety of changing park maintenance duties. The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining park grounds, buildings, equipment, and facilities while helping ensure an enjoyable and safe experience for visitors.
The position involves physically demanding outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions. Applicants must be able to safely perform grounds maintenance, equipment operation, general repairs, and other assigned maintenance tasks.
Position Details
- Perform landscaping, mowing, trimming, planting, and general grounds maintenance.
- Maintain lawns, landscaped areas, pathways, and other park grounds.
- Perform general repairs and routine maintenance on buildings, facilities, and equipment.
- Perform basic electrical, plumbing, and DC motor repairs.
- Operate and maintain light-duty equipment, including tractors, power tools, chainsaws, and other maintenance equipment.
- Assist with routine inspections and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
- Help maintain park facilities and grounds in a clean, safe, and presentable condition.
- Assist other departments with setup, cleanup, and preparation for public events and activities.
- Follow established safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment and tools.
- Perform other related duties and maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Six to twelve months of relevant experience providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.
- Previous experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, facility maintenance, construction, equipment operation, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding grounds keeping and equipment maintenance duties.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work in varying conditions including but limited to interior of a cave
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and light-duty maintenance equipment.
- Willingness and ability to obtain required certifications and participate in job-related training.
- Valid driver’s license required.

Work Schedule
- 40 hours per week, year-round.
- Changing schedules may be required based on park maintenance needs and seasonal activities.
- Alternating weekends are required during peak season.
- Occasional overtime may be required, including during special events, emergencies, or periods of increased maintenance activity.
- Punctuality and reliable attendance are required.
Physical Requirements
The Park Maintenance Technician must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, including:
- Standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and working for extended periods.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling equipment and materials.
- Performing repetitive physical tasks associated with landscaping and maintenance.
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and outdoor maintenance equipment.
- Working safely on uneven terrain and in outdoor environments.
- Performing duties that may require moderate to strenuous physical exertion.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: $35,360.00
Reports To: Director of Facilities
Job Type: Full-time, salaried position; 40 hours per week, with occasional evening, weekend, holiday, and after-hours work as required by business and event needs.

Paid Holidays
The company observes the following paid holidays:

Employees may be required to work on Memorial Day, Independence Day, or Labor Day as part of the team’s holiday coverage schedule. If an employee is required to work on an observed paid holiday, equivalent paid flex time will be provided.
Paid Time Off (PTO):
- Vacation: Following the employee’s successful 90-day performance review, the employee is eligible for paid vacation based on length of service:
- First year of employment: 40 hours
- Years 2–4 of employment: 80 hours per year
- Beginning in Year 5: 120 hours per year
- Sick Time: Following the employee’s successful 90-day performance review, the employee is eligible for up to 40 hours of sick time per year. Sick time is intended to provide a safety net when an employee is unable to work due to illness, injury, medical care, or another qualifying health-related need.
