Red foxes:
- can be found in the U.S. from Alaska to Florida.
- are omnivores. They will eat rodents, rabbits, birds, and fruit, even garbage and pet food if they’re living amongst humans.
- are solitary hunters.
- have adapted quite well to human development. They can thrive in places like Lost River Cave, located in the heart of a bustling Bowling Green.
- have an average life span of about 2 to 4 years in the wild.
- have tails that serve to help them balance, keep warm, and act as a signal to communicate with other foxes.
