SONGWRITER ROUNDS

The songwriter rounds held monthly at Lost River Cave feature very accomplished songwriters from the Bluegrass State, Nashville and as far away as Toronto, Canada. These shows provide an opportunity for those attending to hear original songs (many of them having been hits) performed by the people who actually wrote them. The concept of the “round” was developed at the legendary Bluebird Café in Nashville. Most of the writers who play at the Lost River Cave songwriter shows have performed numerous times at the Bluebird and other leading venues in Nashville.

In a round, songwriters sit in a circle or row and play one original song at a time, frequently telling where the idea for the song originated or how it was recorded. The shows are held in a quiet, listener friendly setting. The rounds at Lost River Cave are hosted by songwriter/recording artist Dan Modlin of the Americana duo, Modlin&Scott. The songwriter shows are held the second Monday evening of each month.
