Ready to turn your nature photos into real scientific data? Join us for a hands-on citizen science experience focused on nature photography and wildlife documentation using iNaturalist.
We’ll kick things off indoors with a quick, beginner-friendly session on how to photograph birds, insects, and other wildlife, plus how to log and share your observations so they can contribute to real research.
Then we’ll head outside for a guided walk through the park to put your new skills into action. It’s an especially exciting time to be out, as spring warbler migration is underway, meaning there’s a great chance to spot a variety of birds moving through the area.
This FREE program is perfect for beginners, curious nature lovers, and anyone interested in photography or contributing to citizen science. Led by volunteer naturalist Rickey Shive and LRC’s own Adam Miles, you’ll leave with new skills, fresh air, and maybe even a few great shots. This program also kicks off our participation in the City Nature Challenge, a worldwide community effort to document as much local biodiversity as possible.
