Buggin’ Out

Get ready for a unique after-dark adventure at Lost River Cave! Join naturalists John Zippay and Ricky Shive as we explore the fascinating world of nocturnal insects. Using UV lights and bedsheets, we’ll attract and observe an array of nighttime flyers—from moths and crickets to assassin bugs and other hidden gems of the insect world.

This is a fun, educational experience for bug lovers of all ages—perfect for families, nature enthusiasts, or anyone curious about the creatures that come alive after the sun goes down.

• This is a special after-hours event, so restrooms won’t be available—plan ahead to stay comfortable.
• To help us attract as many nighttime bugs as possible, please skip the bug spray—your cooperation makes a big difference!
• We encourage you to bring a camping chair so you can relax and enjoy the show comfortably.
• No food or drinks will be sold on-site, so feel free to bring your own refreshments if you like.
