This commonly used ground cover has been overtaking the Valley\, encroaching on both our Meadow Restoration Project and the surrounding Blue Hole #3. By clearing out invasive species\, we’re giving native plants the space they need to thrive\, creating a healthier environment for local wildlife. It will be an evening of movement\, fresh air\, and connection on April 21\, followed by a fun community celebration at the Cave. \n  \n5:00pm:  Arrive to mix\, mingle\, and play yard games | Meet at the back of the parking lot \n5:30pm: Group health walk (three routes available – short loop\, mile loop\, stroller friendly route) ending in a community celebration in the Cave \nThe all-new (free!) community Cave Fest will feature activities\, meet-and-greets\, and demonstrations from local organizations supporting healthy bodies\, minds\, and the environment—plus food and drinks for purchase from Trailside Treats and music to keep things festive. Join us for a hands-on citizen science experience focused on nature photography and wildlife documentation using iNaturalist. \nWe’ll kick things off indoors with a quick\, beginner-friendly session on how to photograph birds\, insects\, and other wildlife\, plus how to log and share your observations so they can contribute to real research. \nThen we’ll head outside for a guided walk through the park to put your new skills into action. It’s an especially exciting time to be out\, as spring warbler migration is underway\, meaning there’s a great chance to spot a variety of birds moving through the area. \nThis FREE program is perfect for beginners\, curious nature lovers\, and anyone interested in photography or contributing to citizen science. Led by volunteer naturalist Rickey Shive and LRC’s own Adam Miles\, you’ll leave with new skills\, fresh air\, and maybe even a few great shots. For Earth Week\, we’re opening this special showing to the public—your chance to experience a movie in the cave for yourself. Book up to six tickets\, grab your camping chairs\, and settle in for an evening surrounded by the cave’s natural beauty. \nBe sure to arrive when gates open: Flora Nye with You & I will be hosting a recycled-material painting wall\, an interactive\, eco-friendly art experience using repurposed materials and creative tools. \nFee: Free! This Earth Week showing is open to all\, but spots are limited! \nWhen: Saturday\, April 25 \n\nGates open and activity begins at 6:00 pm\nMovie starts at 7:00 pm\n\nLocation: Cavern Nite Club \nBring: Camping chairs! Reusable water bottles are welcome\, but outside food and drink are not allowed. Trailside Treats concessions will be available for purchase. \nMovie: WALL-E[/vc_column_text]SOLD OUT*[vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=””] \n*A limited number of additional tickets may be released on April 24—please check back for availability.
